Minor girl raped by 34-year old man

Salem (TN), Apr 2: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped here by a ward-level DMDK functionary, police said.

Ammapet ward DMDK Secretary Senthil (34), operating cable TV business, was arrested today hours after the crime last night, they said. Senthil had allegedly raped the girl when she was alone at her house.

On being informed by the girl, her parents lodged a police complaint following which Inspector Sheela arrested Senthil under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act this morning, police said. The accused, who is married and has two children, was produced before a court which remanded him to 15 days judicial custody.
