Minor girl gang-raped in UP

Muzaffarnagar, Aug 12: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three youths in Kheri Rajputana village when she had gone out to relieve herself, police said.

Three youths picked up the class X student and took her to a nearby field and allegedly gang-raped her on Tuesday, Aug 11, SHO SK Tyagi said.

The accused allegedly threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anybody, police said, adding one of the accused has been identified as Prashant.

The accused persons are still at large and efforts are on to nab them, they said. Police have registered cases under section 376 (rape) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the accused.

Meanwhile, in a month-old alleged gangrape case at Naglarai village in Shamli district, a gram pradhan was arrested yesterday, police said. Farzand Ali was arrested while three of his co-accused in the case are still absconding, they said.
