Minor girl dies after falling into borewell in Kanpur

Kanpur, April 4: A one-year-old girl, who was rescued from borewell in Nawabganj area of Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, April 3 night, could not survive.

According to reports, Khushi, the girl, who fell into a 30-feet borewell, died few hours after being rescued. She wwas taken to a nearby hospital, where she breathed her last.

She was brought out from the deep borewell by the joint rescue operation carried out by a team of the Indian army and NDRF personnel, who were flown in from Bareilly.

Khushi had accidentally fell into the borewell, when she was crawling towards her mother on Sunday morning.

The borewell is one of the five dugs around the roadways colony by the Kanpur Development Authority (KDA). The bore wells weren't allegedly closed after the work related to soil testing was over.
