Milkypur Bypoll: SP MP Awadhesh Prasad Says He Will Resign If...
Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad on Sunday broke down during a press confrence in Ayodhya, while discussing a tragic rape and murder case. The incident involved a Dalit girl, and Prasad had recently met her family, and promised them justice at the earliest.
Prasad said, if the victim does not get justice, he would resign from the Lok Sabha.

Former minister Tej Narayan Pandey Pawan and SP district president Parasnath Yadav tried to console Prasad during his emotional outburst at the press conference.
The girl's body was discovered unclothed in a canal near her village in Ayodhya. Her family reported her missing since Thursday night. They alleged she was murdered after being raped. The police found the body on Saturday morning, 500 metres from the village.
Investigation Underway
Upon receiving information about the incident, police took immediate action. They secured the body and began an investigation. A man has been detained for questioning regarding the case. The victim's family accused the police of not actively searching for her despite filing a missing report.
The victim's family claimed that her eyes were missing and her body had deep wounds and fractures. Her limbs were tied with ropes, and there were multiple cuts on her body. Villagers who helped transport the body noticed a fractured leg.
Awaiting Post-Mortem Results
Circle Officer Ashutosh Tiwari stated that a missing report was filed on Friday after receiving a complaint. Now that the body has been recovered, they are awaiting post-mortem results to determine further action.
Political Reactions
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath dismissed Prasad's emotional display as theatrics. He suggested that someone from the Samajwadi Party might be involved in the crime. "An incident happened with a daughter in Ayodhya," he remarked, "When the investigation is done, some cruel persons from SP will definitely be found."
