Milkipur Bypolls: CM Yogi Attacks Akhilesh Yadav, Says Samajwadi Party Backs Criminals In UP

The bypoll-battle of Milkypur is getting intensified day by day as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters. Recently, UP CM Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack at SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav and aligned the Samajwadi Party with criminals. He said, SP backs Mafia rather than supporting women and the people of the state.

Reiterating SP leaders' previous statements, CM Yogi during a political gathering said, they (SP leaders) suggested resolving Ayodhya issue would lead to violence, SP never wanted Ram Mandir to be built, adding that such ideas and people have no place in Uttar Pradesh.

Praising his own government, UP CM said his leadership leaves no room for lawlessness or criminal elements.

Milkipur Bypoll:

The bypoll for Milkipur assembly seat in Ayodhya district is set for February 5. Ten candidates are competing, with Ajit Prasad from SP and Chandrabhanu Paswan from BJP being the main contenders. The SP aims to retain the seat after winning Faizabad's parliamentary seat, which includes Ayodhya.

The BJP seeks to reclaim Milkipur to counter SP's influence following their Faizabad victory. The seat became vacant when Awadhesh Prasad resigned after being elected as an MP from Faizabad in 2024.

In 2022, BJP's Gorakhnath lost to Prasad, though BJP won other seats in Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency.
