Militants attack police party in Pulwama; 1 terrorist gunned down, battle on
Srinagar, Aug 6: Militants on Thursday attacked a police party deputed to conduct a search operation in a village in south Kashmir's Pulwama district.
As per reports, one of the 3 terrorists holed up in the Astan Mohalla of Kakapora area has been eliminated so far, sources told media.

Special Operations Group (SOG) of local police cordoned off Asthan Mohalla locality of Kakapora, 32 kms from here, around 4 pm on receiving specific inputs about militants hiding in a house, a police officer said.
He said the militants opened fire on noticing the search party in an attempt to escape.
Reinforcements, including Rashtriya Rifles personnels, have been rushed to the area to flush out the militants believed to be trapped there, the officer said adding there was no fresh report of firing so far.
No causalities were reported in the initial firing by militants, the officer said, adding further details of the operation are awaited.
