Crude bombs manufactured:
The statements taken by the local police from the villagers of the area suggest that crude bombs were being manufactured in the firecracker unit. The local police confirmed that the unit was not licenced and was being run illegally.
The unit is situated in the Brahman bar village of Pingla in West Midnapore. The incident occurred last night and is said to be accidental in nature.
Maity who runs the illegal unit had been in the eye of the storm of the villagers for long as he had been manufacturing crude bombs. The reason why he was manufacturing these crude bombs is unknown.
Local intelligence bureau officials say that there are many such units in West Bengal. These persons claim that they are manufacturing firecrackers. They do not obtain a permit for the same and in such factories manufacture crude bombs most often used by people against their political opponents during the elections.
