Mid-term poll in Bihar any time possible: BJP
Patna, Oct 15: The "internal conflicts" in the Grand Secular Alliance can lead to a mid-term election in Bihar, the BJP said today as it claimed a "tiff" between JDU and RJD, the two main constituents in the ruling coalition, over a host of issues, including cancellation of bail of Mohammad Shahabuddin and suspended RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav.
"The way the three alliance partners (JD-U, RJD and Congress) in the state government are grappling with internal conflicts indicating growing tension among them, Assembly polls can be held any time before the expiry of the term (of the present House)," Bihar BJP president Mangal Pandey told reporters.

He was talking to reporters after end of party's two-day state executive meeting here at 1, Polo Road, the official residence Sushil Kumar Modi, the Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Council.
BJP national general secretary and Bihar in-charge Bhupendra Yadav, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Prem Kumar and a host of Union ministers, including Radha Mohan Singh, Ravishankar Prasad, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, and several MLAs and MLCs attended the two-day meet.
The Bihar BJP chief cited a "tiff" between ruling JD(U) and Lalu Prasad's party over cancellation of bail of RJD strongman Shahabuddin and rape-accused Nawada MLA Yadav, whose case is listed for hearing in the Supreme Court on coming Monday, in support of his predictions.
Three resolutions, including a political one that talks about exposing "growing nexus of politicians and criminals" in Bihar under the present dispensation, were passed during the BJP meeting. "This government may not complete its full term.
We are confident that snap polls will be held before 2020 (when the next Assembly polls are scheduled) and hence we have started expanding our base besides galvanising party workers," he said.
The party has decided to expose the "politician-criminal nexus" through a massive people's awareness campaign right from village to state level, Pandey said. Due to Bihar government's "vote bank politics", communal tension has been mounting in some of the districts like Madhepura, Purnea, Bhojpur, Nalanda, Motihari etc post Durga puja celebrations, the BJP chief alleged, charging the administration with adopting a "partisan" approach in favour of a particular community.
