Mentally-challenged woman kills elderly father

(Maha), May 21: An 82-year-old man was allegedly thrashed to death by his mentally challenged daughter in Dombivali town in the district, police said today.

The 33-year-old accused has been detained for the incident that took place last night, senior police inspector of Vishnunagar police station A S Rane told PTI.

"The woman, who lived with her parents, suddenly turned violent without any provocation and started beating her parents. She kicked and punched her father Anand Nair so hard that he died on the spot," he said.

Based on a complaint lodged by her mother Yashoda, 70, police detained the accused. She has been booked under section 302 (murder) of the IPC and the body of the victim was sent for post-mortem.
