Meerut Shocker: Woman, Lover Arrested for Murdering Husband and Dumping Body in Canal

In a chilling case from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, police have arrested a woman and her lover for allegedly murdering her husband and disposing of his body in a canal, officials confirmed on Saturday. The victim has been identified as Anil, whose body was recently recovered from the canal.

Initially, authorities suspected that Anil had drowned accidentally. However, after further investigation, it was revealed that his death was a premeditated murder. The victim's wife, Kajal, later confessed to the crime, revealing shocking details about how she and her lover plotted and executed the killing.

According to the police, Kajal and her lover Akash first drugged Anil at their home on the intervening night of October 25 and 26, before dumping his unconscious body into the canal. The couple had been married for eight years, but Kajal had recently rekindled her affair with Akash, who is from the same village and works as a labourer.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Abhijeet Kumar said, "Kajal and Akash were in a relationship and killed Anil because of it. Both have been arrested, and a case has been registered at Rohta Police Station. They are currently lodged in jail, and further investigation is underway."

The police have also collected evidence related to the murder, including materials used to drug the victim. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting yet another disturbing case of betrayal and violence within a domestic relationship.
