Meerut: Merchant Navy Officer Murdered In Cold Blood By Wife, Lover; Body Chopped And Sealed In Cement Drum
A horrifying crime has emerged from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where a Merchant Navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, was murdered, dismembered, and his body parts-around 15 in total-were placed in a drum and sealed with cement.
According to police, the gruesome act was orchestrated by his wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla.

The investigation uncovered a chilling tale of love, betrayal, and calculated cruelty.
Love Marriage Turns Sour
Saurabh Rajput and Muskaan Rastogi tied the knot in 2016 after a love marriage. Wanting to spend more time with his wife, Saurabh left his job in the Merchant Navy. However, this decision was not well received by his family, leading to tensions at home. The couple eventually moved into a rented house. In 2019, they welcomed a daughter, but their happiness was short-lived.

Saurabh later discovered that Muskaan was having an affair with his friend, Sahil. This revelation led to conflicts in their marriage, and divorce was considered. However, thinking about his daughter's future, Saurabh chose to stay in the marriage and rejoined the Merchant Navy in 2023, leaving the country for work.
A Birthday Visit Turns Deadly
Saurabh returned home on February 24 to celebrate his daughter's sixth birthday on February 28. By this time, Muskaan and Sahil had grown closer and had allegedly decided to kill him.
According to their police confession, on March 4, Muskaan mixed sleeping pills into Saurabh's food.
Once he was unconscious, she and Sahil murdered him with a knife, chopped up his body, and placed the dismembered parts in a drum before sealing it with wet cement, intending to dispose of it later.
A Cover-Up Holiday
When neighbours enquired about Saurabh's whereabouts, Muskaan claimed he had gone to a hill station. To further mislead people and avoid suspicion, she and Sahil travelled to Manali, using Saurabh's phone to post pictures on his social media.
However, when Saurabh's family was unable to reach him for several days, they became suspicious and filed a missing person complaint with the police.
The Shocking Discovery
Following the complaint, police took Muskaan and Sahil into custody. Under interrogation, they broke down and confessed to the gruesome crime, revealing where the body had been hidden. When police attempted to break the cement-sealed drum using a hammer and chisel, they failed.
The drum was then taken to the mortuary, where a drill machine was used to recover Saurabh's remains-14 days after he had been killed.
Police Statement
Meerut City police chief Ayush Vikram Singh stated that Saurabh Rajput's family had reported him missing after he had not been seen for several days.
"On suspicion, we detained his wife Muskaan and her lover Sahil. During questioning, they admitted to murdering Saurabh on March 4, dismembering his body, and sealing it in a drum with cement. The body has been recovered and sent for a post-mortem examination. Both accused have been taken into custody and will be presented in court," the officer confirmed.
