Meerut remains tense after gangrape case
Meerut, Aug 5: A day after the news of a teacher being gangraped and kidnapped broke, UP BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpai and Sangeet Som are likely to visit the family of the rape victim today.

According to news reports, Bajpai and Som will visit the victim's family in Meerut. Meanwhile, the city continues to simmer after the incident took place.

According to her statement, the victim was taken to a madrasa in Hapur on July 23 and then shifted to Muzaffarnagar from where she managed to escape and get in touch with her family.

The victim in her complaint said that she was raped and beaten by the accused. Meanwhile the police have arrested two people in connection to the case while the main accused is still absconding.

Meanwhile BJP said: "The manner in which there are reports of holding girls captive, forced conversion and selling them, it is a matter of grave concern. In the light of the facts which have come to fore in this incident, there is a need for some serious inquiry," he said.
