Media associations condemn attack during Municipal elections
Jalpaiguri (WB), Oct 5: The attack on media persons during Saturday's Bidhanangar Municipal elections in West Bengal was condemned by several journalist associations in the district on Monday.
The Jalpaiguri Press Club condemned the violence unleashed on journalists and photo-journalists during the Saturday's troubled municipal elections in Bidhannagar and submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Divisional Commissioner P Sinha.

Sinha assured to forward the memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner Arun kumar Roy who is accompanying Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to Bhutan.
Roy would forward the same to the CM after perusal, Sinha said. The Dhupguri Central Dooars Press Club also organised a rally throughout the city against the attack.
A memorandum condemning the attack was today handed over to the Block Development Officer (BDO) which will be handed over to the Governor and Chief Minister.
In Kolkata and in the districts, several journalist associations, including the Press Club, observed protests and took out rallies yesterday and today in protest against the attack on the media in which several journalists were hospitalised.
