MCD: Have people chosen dengue over AAP, Twitter taunts Kejriwal

Here is how some people on twitter reacted to the Delhi MCD 2017 results.

As if the drubbing it received in the poll was not enough, the AAP was ridiculed on social media on Wednesday. With the BJP registering a thumping victory in all three zones of Delhi in the MCD election 2017, the Congress stood a distant second. The Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal, despite being in power in Delhi, delivered an abysmal performance. Unsparing Twitterati went on a rampage trolling the party and its leaders. Here is how some people on twitter reacted to the Delhi MCD 2017 results.

Most tweets directly targetted Arvind Kejriwal and his style of campaigning. Twitter did not forget that the Delhi Chief Minister had threatened people of Dengue if they voted for the BJP. Memes, cartoons and GIFs ruled Twitter on Wednesday.

Leaders of the AAP refused to accept defeat graciously and that only added to the twitter fire that had already been unleashed on the party. Hashtags of Delhi MCD elections 2017, MCD election results 2017 poured in comments and taunts against the party.

The fight was between the BJP and the AAP not just on the ground but also in the virtual world. These tweets are proof that people had already pitted Arvind Kejriwal against Narendra Modi. Credits for winning went straight to Modi while taunts for losing went straight to Kejriwal.

Tweets were not limited to Thursday's results alone but tweeple made it a point to remind the AAP of the drubbing it received in Goa and Punjab as well. Social media is unsparing after all.
