MCD 311 App Enhances User Experience with New Chatbot for Complaint Filing
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) plans to enhance its MCD 311 grievance redressal platform by integrating a chatbot. This addition aims to simplify the complaint process for residents. The MCD 311 app is vital for citizens to report issues directly to officials, and the chatbot will facilitate quicker responses.

A recent meeting, led by Mayor Shelly Oberoi, discussed this initiative. Attendees included AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak, Leader of the House Mukesh Goel, Additional Commissioner Tarik Thomas, and IT Director Marathe Onkar Gopal. The focus was on improving complaint monitoring related to street cleanliness and construction waste removal.
Enhancing Citizen Engagement
The MCD 311 app allows Delhi residents to report non-emergency issues like garbage dumps or unclean toilets. Mayor Oberoi emphasised the importance of addressing citizen complaints promptly, especially with the festive season approaching. "As we approach the festive season, it is our top priority to ensure that Delhi is clean and beautiful, and that citizen complaints are addressed in a timely and effective manner," she stated.
Leader of the House Mukesh Goel supported the initiative, highlighting the importance of technology in maintaining a citizen-friendly system. "By incorporating technologies such as the chatbot, we are ensuring that the system remains citizen-friendly and responsive to their needs, especially as we prepare for the festive season," he said.
Improving Oversight and Efficiency
During the meeting, suggestions were made to conduct regular field checks and streamline daily reports from field officers for better oversight. A third-party audit of the app was also proposed to ensure it meets high standards of efficiency and transparency.
The integration of a chatbot into MCD 311 is expected to enhance communication between residents and local government officials. This move aims to ensure that complaints are addressed more efficiently, contributing to a cleaner and more organised city environment.
