MCC Announces Cut-Off Reduction For NEET PG 2024 Counselling: Here's What You Need To Know
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially announced a reduction in the cut-off percentile for NEET PG 2024 counselling, according to a Hindustan Times (HT) report.
This decision comes after consultations between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the National Medical Commission (NMC), as confirmed in a notice by the MCC. The new lower cut-off aims to offer more candidates the opportunity to participate in the counselling process for postgraduate medical courses.
According to the official notice, the updated eligibility criteria are as follows:
General/EWS Candidates: Candidates who secure 15 percentile or above are now eligible for participation in the counselling.
SC/ST/OBC/PwD Candidates: Candidates securing 10 percentile or above will be eligible for the counselling.
The change in percentile is part of the government's effort to ensure that more eligible candidates can take part in the process, potentially easing the competition for seats in various medical colleges. The decision will likely impact thousands of students who are seeking admission to postgraduate medical programs in India.
Furthermore, MCC has announced that the NEET PG 2024 Round 3 seat allotment result will be released on January 4, 2025. Candidates who have registered for Round 3 can check their results by visiting the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
The release of the results will mark a significant step in the NEET PG 2024 counselling process, and candidates are encouraged to stay updated by regularly visiting the official MCC website for any new developments and instructions.
For more details, candidates can visit the official Medical Counselling Committee website.
