Mathura-Aligarh road blocked for 3 hrs

Mathura, March 31: A group of persons on Wednesday, March 31 blocked the Mathura-Aligarh road for over three hours, protesting the alleged police inaction in the case of death of a youth who was allegedly beaten by his maternal uncle on March 24.

Rahul (25) was beaten up and severely injured by his uncle and his friends on Holi over a petty issue in Ram Nagar area. He was rushed to a hospital in Chandigarh where he succumbed to his wounds on Monday.

A group of men led by Rahul's father Prahlad Singh blocked the road alleging police took no action against the accused. "The road blockade was lifted only when the accused was booked on charges of murder," SP Rural Arun Kumar said.
