Jaipur: Massive Fire Kills 5, Injures Several After Chemical-Laden Truck Collides With LPG Tanker
At least five people have been burnt to death, and several others have sustained injuries in a fire that broke out at a fuel station in Jaipur on Friday, December 20.
According to police, the blaze began when a chemical-laden truck collided with a tanker carrying LPG, igniting a fire on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway on Friday morning, reported Hindustan Times. The flames quickly spread to the petrol station in the Bhankrota area of the city.

Several vehicles parked at the petrol station were also destroyed in the fire. According to India Today, Initial reports indicate that the lorry involved in the collision was transporting a chemical.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, 20 fire engines were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames. Efforts to control the fire were ongoing at the time of reporting. The injured were transported to Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur.
Footage from the scene showed intense flames engulfing the petrol station as firefighters worked to bring the situation under control.
Police confirmed that the fire started when a lorry collided with other vehicles and subsequently caught fire on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway. The blaze then spread to the nearby petrol station.
"Around 40 vehicles caught fire. Fire brigade and ambulances have reached the spot. The relief work is underway. The fire has been doused, and only one or two vehicles remain. Around 23-24 people have been injured in the incident. A fire broke out due to the collision of many vehicles one after the other. Efforts are being made to douse the fire," the Jaipur District Magistrate stated while speaking to the media.
