Massive Fire Engulfs MPs' Brahmaputra Apartments in Delhi Near Parliament

A massive fire broke out at the Brahmaputra Apartments, a multi-storey residential complex for Members of Parliament, located on BD Marg near Parliament in Delhi on Saturday. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the building as residents rushed to safety.

The Delhi Fire Service received an alert about the incident around 1:20 pm, prompting the deployment of at least six fire tenders to the site.

The blaze reportedly started on one of the upper floors of the complex, creating panic among the residents. Firefighters are actively working to bring the fire under control, while the exact reason behind the incident remains unknown.

The prompt response by the fire department has been crucial in preventing further escalation of the situation.

Brahmaputra Apartments, inaugurated in 2020 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, serves as a residence for several Rajya Sabha MPs. Authorities are currently assessing the damage and ensuring that all residents are safe, while investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
