Maoist gunned down in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Aug 24: A Maoist was killed on Wednesday in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district in an encounter with police, officials said.

The Maoist has been identified as Punem Podiya, who was the president of the Jantana Sarkar group of the outfit.

Weapons, along with banners and posters, were recovered from the site of the encounter.
