Shocking: Many actresses are into prostitution, reveals Tollywood heroine Shweta Basu

actress who has been arrested in connection with a

racket, revealed that many more actresses are into this flesh trade. However, she did not reveal names of other actresses.

Shweta, while speaking to media and police, was quoted as saying that being into prostitution racket is "quite common for heroines". After her arrest, one official statement from actress said, "I have made wrong choices in my career and I was out of money. I had to support my family and some other good causes."

"All the doors were closed and some people encouraged me to get into prostitution to earn money. I was helpless and with no option left to choose, I got involved in this act," she added.

The young actress, who was arrested by Hyderabad police, also added, "I'm not the only one who faced this problem and there are several other heroines who have gone through this phase."

According to reports, Shweta was in the business knowingly. She earlier was caught in a compromising position during a sting operation. Balu, the pimp, used to take Rs 1 lakh on behalf of Shweta.

Shweta had won national award for her Bollywood movie Makdee. She had also acted in several Hindi movies and TV serials, such as -- Iqbal, Kahani Ghar Ghari Ki, Karishma Ka Karishma and many more.

Recently, it was reported that Shweta was likely to expose her client who are reported to be high profile business tycoons from metro cities across the country.

According to sources, Shweta may reveal the names of the businessmen who had paid Rs one lakh each to a pimp to spend intimate time with the 23-year-old actress.

Earlier it was reported that Hyderabad Police on Aug 31 arrested a few high profile businessmen as they along with Shweta were caught red handed in a star hotel at Banjara Hills in the city.

Police revealed all information about Shweta but they did not reveal the names of her clients. Many raised questions on cops's silence on the matter. Now, it would be interesting to see how the nation would react if Shweta indeed reveals names of the tycoons.
