Manohar Parrikar's entry in South Block will shut shops of middlemen

New Delhi, Nov 11: After taking his office at the South Block, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar did not indulge into diplomatic talks with the reporters as he doesn't believes in formalities.

Known for straight talks

Manohar Parrikar is known for talking straight. Earlier the former Goa CM had even criticised African nationals living in Goa and even used strong words against BJP patriarch LK Advani. He had to even apologise for using making a racial slur at the African nationals, as several foreigners are indulged into drug trade in the state.

But, the new Defence Minister's potential cannot be questioned for he has proven his skill. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fan of his honesty and simplicity.

Experts are of the view that Parrikar is going to be very crucial leader of the NDA regime for a country that spends more than 2 lakh crore on its defence budget. Hence, it is believed that Parrikar is going to shut the shops of middlemen, who had posed huge losses to the exchequer.

Interference is not acceptable to Parrikar

According to senior journalist Aditi Fadnis feels that Parrikar will leave an impression in country's politics as a defence minister. Hence, one must be assured that after his induction into cabinet committee on security (CCS) and cabinet ministry will give a new life to the 'ailing' sector.

An alumnus of IIT in Metallurgical Engineering, Parrikar, will be able to understand the strength and weaknesses Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) better than any of his predecessors.

People in Goa know him well that how, at times, used to get down from his vehicle to direct the traffic. Despite being a CM, he was also seen savouring salads at a roadside shop in Panjim. One just hopes that he continues to be simple even after coming to Central politics.
