Blow for King Khan: BMC demolishes illegal construction outside Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat
New Delhi, Feb 14: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday demolished the illegal ramp, adjacent to Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan's bungalow Mannat. This has come to fore days after the BMC had given Khan the deadline in connection with the controversial ramp.
As per reports, on this morning the BMC officials reached at the spot and removed the illegal structure. Vijay Kamble who is assistant municipal commissioner has confirmed the news.

It is being said that BMC was forced to take this step after residents of the area complained about the same. Recently, BMC had sent notice to Khan after BJP MP Poonam Mahajan had complained about it in written.
Mahajan asked BMC to take action against the ramp which is used to park the vanity van of the actor.
In her letter to BMC, the MP mentioned about complaints by residents who face trouble for the ramp.
Shahrukh Khan has been accused of constructing the ramp illegally. Mahajan in her letter mentioned that an illegal ramp has been constructed by a bungalow owner in Bandra, hence, refrained from taking the names of Khan or Mannat.
According to sources, several residents, who face problem for the ramp, met Mahajan and submitted documents which proved the road belongs to the government and should be handed over to the public for use.
Earlier many people protested outside Mannat in 2014. The protesters had raised demand to demolish the controversial ramp which barred people to enter a church.
Residents allege that the controversial ramp stands on public property and blocks access to the stairs that lead to Mount Mary Church from Bandstand.
