Manjhi asks for deployment of adequate central forces in Bihar

New Delhi, Dec 7: Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and made a demand for deployment of adequate central forces in the state.

In the meeting during which he briefed the Home Minister about the law and order situation, Manjhi explained to him the requirement of assistance from Centre in this regard, keeping in mind the fact that the state shares border with Nepal and has naxal affected patches.

He demanded that the battalions of Rapid Action Force and CRPF should be deployed in the state in adequate numbers," a state government release said. Manjhi had arrived here yesterday to attend a meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consult chief ministers on restructuring of the Planning Commission.

During the meeting with Singh, Manjhi also raised issues related to various road projects in the state under the security related expenditure schemes.
