Manipur Viral Video Case: CBI Arrests 10 Accused, 6 FIRs Filed
In response to the ongoing violence and conspiracy in Manipur, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken swift and decisive action, registering six FIRs in connection with the incidents. As a result of the investigation, 10 individuals have been arrested so far. Furthermore, the CBI is poised to register a seventh FIR, focusing on a distressing gangrape incident captured in a viral video.
The situation in Manipur has been marred by 86 days of unrest, prompting the central government to step in. The Ministry of Home Affairs has submitted an affidavit to the Supreme Court, disclosing that the investigation into the case of two women being paraded naked has been entrusted to the CBI. In an effort to ensure an impartial and timely trial, the ministry has urged the apex court to transfer the trial of the case out of Manipur.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Home Affairs is actively engaged in restoring peace in the state. Home Minister Amit Shah is in direct communication with key representatives from both the Meitei and Kuki communities, working towards bringing them to the negotiating table. Despite differing viewpoints on reconciliation between the two communities, the government remains hopeful about achieving a breakthrough in the talks in the near future.
The turmoil in Manipur has garnered significant attention, and the involvement of the CBI underscores the gravity of the situation. With FIRs filed and arrests made, the investigation is progressing, instilling a sense of accountability for the alleged wrongdoings. The government's commitment to expediting the trial and fostering dialogue between the conflicting parties demonstrates its earnest efforts to address the crisis and restore peace in the state.
