Manipur Violence: Mother Of Rape-Murder Victim Makes A Shocking Claim
Manipur is set on fire after the two Kuki women were brutally raped and murdered by the mob. People rage in anger at the ongoing situation in Manipur. The mother of one of the deceased still hopes to see her daughter back.

Two women aged 21 and 24 were kidnapped, raped, and brutally murdered. The mother of one of the deceased filed a complaint on May 5th, but the FIR got registered by the police on May 16.
According to the mother of the deceased, her daughter used to work at a car wash facility and lived with another woman in a rented house.
It was amid the violence when the mother tried calling her daughter but failed to connect. Later, a Meitei woman answered the phone and asked her if she wanted her daughter alive or dead. She then hung up the phone.
A copy of the FIR revealed that the miscreants, allegedly members of various organizations including the Meitei Youth Organisation, were booked under various sections of the IPC, including 302 (murder), 375 (rape), and 366 (kidnapping).
The victim's mother said that after she received the news of her daughter's death, their village was attacked and burned. Her family had to flee to the forest and then started living in a relief camp.
Over 150 people have lost their lives and several have been injured since ethnic violence broke out in Manipur on May 3, when a 'Tribal Solidarity March' was organised in the hill districts to protest against the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.
Tensions further mounted in the hill state on July 19, after a May 4 video surfaced on social video platforms, showing two women being paraded naked by dozens of men.
However, Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh has claimed that only one incident of rape has been reported, apparently referring to the sexual assault of one of the survivors seen in the viral video.
