Mangaluru ahead of Mumbai, New York in flooding risk: NASA
When it comes to flooding due to global warming, Mangaluru in Karnataka is at a higher risk when compared to Mumbai or New York, new data released by NASA says.

A study carried out in the journal Sciences Advances says that over the next 100 years, glacial melt could push up sea levels in Mangaluru by 15.98 cm when compared to the 15.26 cm for Mumbai and 10.65 cm for New York.
"As cities and countries attempt to build plans to mitigate flooding, they have to be thinking about 100 years in the future and they want to assess risk in the same way that insurance companies do," said Erik Ivins, senior scientist at the laboratory.
