Man who plotted Modi’s assassination arrested again

The police learnt about this following a complaint against Ali in which he was accused of land grab.

    A alleged operative of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba who was held for plotting the assassination of Narendra Modi has been arrested again. He was out on bail when the police arrested him for possessing fake documents.

    On August 28 2002, Farhan Ali was arrested from Delhi with 4 kgs of RDX, detonators and a pistol. He along with his associates were accused of plotting the assassination of Modi who was then the Gujarat Chief Minister. They were also accused of plotting the killing of Sangh leaders.

    Ali who was out on bail was found to be in possession of fake documents including a passport. The police learnt that he had used the passport to travel to Kuwait which was also a violation of the bail conditions.

    The police learnt about this following a complaint against Ali in which he was accused of land grab. He was arrested from the Barabian area which falls under the Mughalpura police station limits.

    During the search at his home, the police found fake ration cards, driver's licence among other documents. The police has alerted the Intelligence Bureau which is now questioning him.
