Man rapes 7-year-old girl in UP

Muzaffarnagar, Aug 18: A 7-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 60-year-old man at his house in Shamli district, following which he was arrested by the police.

According to a complaint lodged by the victim's father, the girl was raped yesterday when she had gone to the house of the accused, Mamchand, at Salhapur village in Jhinjhina area, said Tejvir Singh, in-charge of Chosana police outpost.

The matter came to light when the the victim complained to her parents about the incident, following which the villagers thrashed him before handing him over to the police, Singh said.

The accused has been arrested and the victim has been sent for medical examination, Singh said.
