Man Kills Wife, Leaves Son with Body, Commits Suicide in Ghaziabad
A man allegedly killed his wife in Gurugram, leaving their son locked in a room with the body, before committing suicide by jumping from a metro station in Ghaziabad.
In a shocking turn of events, a man allegedly took the life of his 23-year-old wife in Gurugram, leaving their two-year-old son traumatized and locked in a room with the body. The perpetrator, identified as Gaurav Sharma, 30, fled the scene and later ended his own life by jumping from a metro station in Ghaziabad.

The Horrific Incident
The incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon when the couple, Gaurav Sharma and Laxmi, engaged in a heated argument at their rented accommodation in DLF Phase 3. The argument escalated to violence, resulting in Gaurav allegedly slitting Laxmi's throat with a sharp object and striking her head with a brick. Their young son also suffered injuries from a brick attack.
Discovery of the Crime
The cries of the child alerted the neighbors, who promptly informed the security guard. Upon finding the house locked, the guard alerted the police. A police team arrived at the scene and forced open the door, revealing the gruesome scene – Laxmi's lifeless body lying in a pool of blood and the injured child crying nearby. The deceased woman's mobile phone was found in the toilet.
Police Investigation and FIR
Based on the circumstantial evidence, the police strongly suspect Gaurav Sharma of committing the murder. An FIR for murder has been registered against him at the DLF Phase-3 police station. The woman's body was handed over to her relatives after a postmortem examination.
Child's Well-being and Family Background
The injured child was initially taken to a civil hospital and later referred to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital. He was eventually released into the care of his mother's family members, who took him to their hometown of Agra.
According to the police, both Gaurav and Laxmi hailed from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and had an arranged marriage three years ago. Gaurav was employed with a private company but had recently become unemployed. The couple had moved into their current flat approximately six months prior to the incident.
Suicide and Police Confirmation
Following the murder, Gaurav Sharma fled the scene, leading to an extensive search by the police. His phone was found out of service, but a breakthrough came when information emerged around 11:45 pm that a person had allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the Kaushambi metro station in Ghaziabad. A police team confirmed that the deceased individual was indeed Gaurav Sharma.
Official Statements
Trans Hindon Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shubham Patel confirmed that the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination. Inspector Dinkar of Gurugram stated that the Ghaziabad police are handling the suicide case.
ACP DLF Vikas Kaushik assured that the matter is being thoroughly investigated from all angles and the motive behind the murder will be ascertained soon.
This tragic incident highlights the devastating consequences of domestic violence and the urgent need for intervention and support mechanisms to prevent such acts of violence. The loss of a young life and the trauma inflicted on the child serve as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing domestic abuse and promoting healthy relationships within families.
