Kashmiri Man Found Offering Namaz Inside Ayodhya Ram Temple, Detained By Police

A security lapse has been reported at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, where a man allegedly attempted to offer namaz inside the temple premises. As per initial reports, when security personnel tried to stop him, he began shouting slogans in support of his community.

A man from Kashmir was detained by police in Ayodhya after he allegedly tried to offer namaz inside the Ram Mandir complex. When temple security personnel stopped him, he reportedly raised slogans, leading to concern among officials and visitors.

The man has been identified as Ahmed Sheikh, a 55-year-old resident of the Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, he entered the temple premises on Friday and, after visiting the main shrine, went near the Sita Rasoi area, where he was seen preparing to perform namaz.

Police Question the Man and Tighten Security

Security personnel immediately intervened and detained him for questioning. During the inspection, police found some dry fruits - including cashews and raisins - in his possession. When asked about his purpose, the man reportedly said he was traveling to Ajmer.

The police have launched an inquiry to understand his intentions and movements before entering the high-security temple area. Senior officers and intelligence agencies are also reviewing the security setup at the Ram Mandir complex to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.

Incident Ahead of Major Temple Events

The local administration and the Ram Temple Trust have not made any official statements yet regarding the incident. However, authorities are keeping a close watch, as the temple town of Ayodhya is preparing for the Makar Sankranti celebrations next week. The event is expected to draw large crowds of devotees, leading to increased security across the region.

The timing of the incident has raised further concern as it comes just days before the second anniversary of the Ram Temple's consecration ceremony on January 22. Officials have instructed security forces to stay on alert and monitor all visitor activities closely within the temple premises.

Despite the disturbance, the situation was quickly brought under control, and temple activities continued as normal. The police are expected to release more details once their investigation is complete.
