Man arrested for chain snatching in ladies coach

Barasat (WB), Dec 22: One person was arrested today for allegedly snatching gold chains and mobile phones from the women passengers of a ladies compartment in a local train at Madhyamgram in North 24-Parganas district. The police said the man was arrested when he tried to flee from the coach after stealing the gold chains and mobile sets from the Sealdah-bound Duttapukur Local. The incident happened at about 8.30 pm when the number of passengers in the train was low, the police said.
