Rajasthan Man's Threat to Salman Khan Aimed at Boosting YouTube Views: Police

In a recent development from Rajasthan, a 25-year-old man, Banwarilal Laturlal Gujar, was apprehended by the Mumbai police for allegedly issuing threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan through a YouTube video. The video also boasted of Gujar's connections with notorious gang members, including Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Arrested from Bundi town in Rajasthan, the police charged him with criminal intimidation and violations under the Information Technology Act.

Man Threatens Salman for Views

The arrest, made by the Mumbai police's crime branch on Sunday, followed a complaint lodged by individuals close to Salman Khan after the video titled "Arre Chhodo Yaar" surfaced on YouTube. The clip was purportedly uploaded to garner attention and increase viewership on Gujar's online channel. During his court appearance on Tuesday, the Mumbai court decided to extend his police custody by three additional days for further investigation.

Upon closer examination of the case registered at the South Cyber Police Station, officials reported that no evidence linking Gujar to either the Bishnoi gang or the Goldy Brar syndicate was found. It appears that the sensational content of the video was merely a tactic to attract a wider audience. Gujar, who is currently completing his graduation, had filmed the controversial video in Rajasthan before uploading it to his YouTube channel.

Further investigations revealed that Gujar had created at least 19 email addresses, some of which were linked to his YouTube channel. The purpose behind these multiple email accounts is still under scrutiny by the police. As part of their ongoing investigation, authorities have blocked Gujar's YouTube channel and are examining his mobile phone for any incriminating evidence. However, officials have stated that so far, no objectionable material has been discovered on his device.

This incident has highlighted the lengths individuals may go to in pursuit of online popularity, sometimes crossing legal boundaries and invoking the names of infamous personalities and criminals. The Mumbai police continue their thorough investigation into the matter to uncover any further details or connections that may exist.
