Maldives ex-president Nasheed meets BJP leader Jolly

During the 45-minute meeting with Jolly, who is convenor of the Overseas Friends of the BJP, former Maldives foreign minister Ahmed Naseem was also present, said a statement from Jolly's office.
Nasheed praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his dynamism and admitted that he was a great admirer of Modi and his style of governance.
Nasheed also conveyed his greetings through Jolly for newly-appointed Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah.
"The rise of radical Muslim fundamentalism in Maldives, its serious implications on peace and security in our region, the involvement of Maldivian militants in the Mumbai terror attack of Nov 26, 2008, killing 164 people and wounding 308 civilians, and the Maldivian military trained 'dropouts' found fighting in Syria for ISIS were discussed at length," the statement said.
Jolly said ways and means to establish party-to-party relationship between the Maldivian Democratic Party and the BJP were also agreed upon.
