Malda (WB): 17 infants die

(WB), Oct 19:The infant

spree has begun again in

hospitals. At least 17 babies are dead at a government hospital in Malda in the past 72 hours. Out of this, 7 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.

Parents claim that the casue of deaths was negligence on the pasrt of the hospital authorities and the doctors. They also said that most of the instruments that were very important for newborn babies, were either not available or non-functional.

On the contrary, the hospital administration claims that the children were brought in a critical condition, which led to deaths.
