Arbaaz Khan has arrived at his ex-wife Malaika Arora's house after her father allegedly died by suicide on Wednesday morning.

It is reported that Anil Mehta jumped from the terrace of a seven-story building in Bandra, Mumbai, at around 9:00 am. The cops are at the crime spot and the investigation is on.

As the news of the suicide spread, Malaika's ex-husband Arbaaz Khan arrived at her house. The video shared by the news agency IANS shows Arbaaz Khan interacting with the cops.

However, no suicide has been found, as per the reports. Meanwhile, Malaika was in Pune at the time of the incident. Her mother Joyce Polycarp's statement to the police sheds light on the moments leading up to the tragedy.

She mentioned that Anil had a daily habit of sitting in the balcony and reading newspapers every morning. Joyce and Anil, who were divorced, had started living together again in the past few years. On the fateful morning, she noticed her ex-husband's slippers in the living room but could not find him in his usual spot in the balcony. Worried, she leaned over and looked below, only to hear the building's watchman shouting for help, according to a report in News18.

Anil Mehta, a Punjabi Hindu from the border town of Fazilka in India, worked in the Indian Merchant Navy and was known for his private nature. Not much is known about him although he maintained a relationship of mutual respect and support with his daughters - Malaika and Armita.

In an interview earlier, Malaika had claimed that she just 11 years old when her parents parted ways. She and her younger sister, Amrita Arora, who was 6 at the time, were raised by their mother, Joyce Polycarp.

Reflecting on her parents' separation, Malaika once shared in a magazine interview, "The separation allowed me to see my mother in a new light. I learned from her a rock-steady work ethic and the importance of waking up every morning determined to do whatever it takes to be fiercely independent. Those early lessons have become the foundation of my life and career. I am still fiercely independent; I value my freedom and live life on my terms."
