Major infiltration bid foiled in Macchil, 5 terrorists killed: Army

Confiming the killing of 5 terrorists in Kashmir's Machil sector, Brigade Commander of Indian Army RK Suresh on Wednesday said that they had launched an operation in Macchil sector of Kupwara district to eleminate five terrorists who had taken advantage of dense foliage and were successful.

The Army aslo confirmed that they had recovered huge quantity of arms & ammunition and also ration, medicines with Pakistani markings.

Earlier on Monday, five terrorists were killed as security forces successfully foiled an infiltration bid from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) into Machil sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

On July 23, another infiltration attempt was foiled by the Army in the very same area. This year, the Army has foiled a total of 22 infiltration bids along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir
