Major Clash In Poonch: Top Terrorist Trapped
During the joint operation in the Pathanateer area near Gursai top in the Mendhar sub-division, three terrorists, including a top commander, are reportedly trapped. As the search party advanced, the terrorists opened fire, leading to an ongoing gunfight. Reinforcements have been deployed, and intermittent firing continues.
This confrontation follows the killing of three terrorists in an overnight encounter in Baramulla district. Security forces had received a tip-off about militant presence in Tapper village, prompting an operation just kilometres from the National Highway.
Inspector General of Police for Kashmir Range, Vidhi Kumar Birdi, visited the site and emphasized that terrorists will not be allowed to disrupt the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir. He added that the motive of the terrorists would be known after the investigation.
