Main Enemy of India Is Dependence On Other Nations: PM Modi Pushes For 'Atmanirbhar' Amid Trump Tariffs

At the 'Samudra se Samriddhi' event, PM Modi urged Indians to support 'Made in India' products to reduce foreign dependence. He emphasised self-reliance as vital for India's future and initiated major development projects.

In a major push for self-reliance, PM Modi urged Indians to embrace 'Made in India' products. During the 'Samudra se Samriddhi' event in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, he emphasised reducing dependency on foreign nations. "Duniya mein koi hamara bada dushman nahi hai. Agar hamara koi dushman hai toh woh hai dusre deshon par hamari nirbharta...," he remarked.

PM Modi laid the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 34,200 crore at the event. He stressed that India's biggest challenge is its reliance on other countries. "Today, India is moving forward with the spirit of 'Vishwabandhu'. We have no major enemy in the world. Our biggest enemy is our dependence on other countries. This is our biggest enemy, and together we must defeat this enemy of India, the enemy of dependence. We must always reiterate this. The greater the foreign dependence, the greater the country's failure," he stated.

Focus on Self-Reliance

The prime minister highlighted that self-reliance is crucial for global peace and prosperity. He said, "For global peace, stability, and prosperity, the country with the world's largest population must become Atmanirbhar." He warned that relying on others could harm India's self-respect and future generations.

Criticising previous administrations, PM Modi accused Congress of neglecting India's potential by favouring imports during globalisation. "Congress ignored India's strength for a long time, when globalisation started, it took the road of import and in that also they made scams of crores of rupees," he claimed.

National Significance

The event in Bhavnagar was not just regional but had national importance. PM Modi noted that Bhavnagar was chosen to highlight India's journey from 'Samudra Se Samriddhi’. He mentioned that though it was held in Bhavnagar, it symbolised progress for all of India.

The prime minister also spoke about initiatives launched on his 75th birthday. From September 17 to October 2, numerous events were organised under 'Seva Pakhvada'. He shared that one lakh people donated blood in Gujarat alone during this period.
