A photograph obtained by OneIndia shows Moitra dressed in traditional attire with elaborate gold jewellery, indicating that while the wedding was private, it retained a ceremonial feel.

As of now, neither Moitra nor Misra has officially confirmed the marriage.

Mahua Moitra, born on 12 October 1974 in Assam, began her professional journey as an investment banker before joining Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress in 2010. She was elected to the Lok Sabha from West Bengal's Krishnanagar in 2019 and re-elected in 2024.

She rose to national prominence through her eloquent speeches in Parliament, particularly her address on the "seven signs of fascism".

Pinaki Misra, born on 23 October 1959 in Puri, Odisha, is a veteran politician and senior advocate. He holds a BA (Hons) in History from St. Stephen's College and an LLB from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.

Misra began his political career with the Indian National Congress, winning the Puri Lok Sabha seat in 1996. He later joined Naveen Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal and has since been re-elected several times, including in 2009, 2014, and 2019.
