Mahua Moitra Receives 30-Day Notice To Vacate Residence After Lok Sabha Expulsion
Mahua Moitra, former MP and Trinamool Congress leader, has received a notice to vacate her official residence within the next 30 days, according to News18 reports.
Moitra has contested her suspension from the Lok Sabha by filing a plea before the Supreme Court. Her expulsion from the lower house was announced by the Lok Sabha secretariat through a notification on Friday, following allegations related to 'cash-for-query' incidents.

The expulsion notice followed the adoption of a report by the Lok Sabha's Ethics Committee, which found Moitra guilty of accepting gifts and unlawful favors from a businessman in exchange for promoting his interests. The notification officially declared her cessation as a member of the Lok Sabha, effective from the afternoon of December 8, 2023.
Amid a contentious debate over the committee's report, where Moitra was not granted the opportunity to address the House, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi put forth a motion to expel her from the Lok Sabha for what was termed as "unethical conduct." The motion was passed through a voice vote.
