Maha: Youth paraded naked for having affair with girl from different caste

Ahmednagar, March 15: A 18-year-old boy was paraded naked on a donkey for having an affair with a girl belonging from different caste in Wambhori village of Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.

According to reports, boy, who belonged from Brahmin family, was garlanded with slippers and stripped naked by the villagers. The incident took place on Saturday morning.

Shivam Dwarkanath Bharadia family members were also allegedly beaten up by locals, police said.

Girl is said to be from Mali community.

Soon after the incident, the police officials rushed to the spot to take hold of the situation.

When contacted, Sanjay Patil, In-charge of Rahuri Police Station, under whose jurisdiction the village falls, said they have registered an offence and were gathering more details about the incident, which led to tension in the area.

Top police officials from Ahmednagar later visited the village.

7 to 8 persons have been detained in connection with the episode, sources in Special IG Control Room at Nashik said.
