Maharashtra shocker: Policeman arrested for raping girl at gun point

Osmanabad (Mah), Aug 6: A police sub-inspector from Osmanabad has been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl at gun point here, police said today.

Prem Sukhdev Bansode (26), presently posted at Vishrambaug police station in Sangli district, was arrested here late last night, Additional SP Deepali Ghadge said.

The victim along with her family was staying on rent at the accused's house here, where the incident took place yesterday.

The girl claimed that the policeman raped her at gun point and threatened her and family from disclosing the crime.

They then lodged a complaint at Anandnagar police station here after which the PSI was arrested.

Bansode has been booked under Section 376 of IPC and sections of POCSO Act.
