High-handedness of Maha politician: Sena MLA holds up train for 'side berth' allotment
Mumbai, April 14: Yet another case of high-handedness of Indian politicians has come to light. Reportedly, a Maharashtra politician held up a train just because he didn't get seat of his choice in it. Name of this politician is Hemant Patil who is MLA from Nanded constituency of the State.
Shiv Sena MLA, Patil got angry after he found that Railway allotted him a 'side' seat. Patil was travelling in Devgiri Express along with an aide. Both were alloted 'side' seats 35 and 36 in the 2nd AC coach of the train.

A TOI report say that Patil refused to accept the seats and held up the train for around 40 minutes. Around 2,000 passengers had to wait for an hour at CST station due to tantrum of the Sena MLA.
Report says that Devgiri train which was supposed to leave at 9.10pm from CST, moved out only at 9.57pm. The Train was again stopped by MLA and fellow passengers near Masjid station.
Meanwhile, passengers have slammed MLA for his high-handedness approach. A commuter Aslam Shaikh was quoted as saying, "If a regular passenger had made such a scene, he would have been hauled off to jail. Why are elected representatives allowed to get away with such behaviour?".
When asked about the incident, Sunil Kumar who is General manager of Central Railway said, "The chain of the Devgiri Express was pulled by some passengers, delaying the train for over an hour. We will inquire into what exactly transpired."
