Mumbai, Oct 28: 44-year-old Devendra Fadnavis finally took oath as the 27th Chief Minister of Maharashtra. His swearing-in ceremony at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was a star-studded event.

Beginning from Mukesh, Anil Ambani to Ratan Tata, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi to director Madhur Bhandarkar -- all were present at the historical ceremony when BJP formed its first ever government in Maharashtra.

Young Fadnavis, who was a known face within Maharashtra, rose to fame soon after BJP's extraordinary performance in the recently held assembly elections in the state.

He is known to be very close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Close party sources were quoted as saying, "he (PM) wants to give an opportunity to a young and studious face and Fadnavis fits in that role. He is not involved in any corruption or scam."

"He is a dynamic leader. Therefore, we slowly started putting his face along with Modiji's in all television advertisements," sources added while speaking about Modi's support to Fadnavis.
