Shiv Sena UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the worsening law and order situation in Maharashtra, citing the recent murder of a party leader and a BJP MLAs gunfire incident. Chaturvedi emphasizes the escalating crime and violence in Mumbai, causing fear and insecurity among residents.

In the wake of the recent murder of a Shiv Sena (UBT) leader in Mumbai and a shooting incident involving a BJP MLA in Thane, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking urgent intervention to address the deteriorating law and order situation in Maharashtra.

Maharashtras Lawless State: Urgent Action Needed to Restore Order

Escalating Crime and Violence in Mumbai

Chaturvedi expressed deep concern over the escalating crime and violence in Mumbai, which was once renowned for its trade and commerce. She highlighted the rampant use of firearms to intimidate innocent civilians and public representatives, creating a perpetual state of fear and insecurity in the state.

Murder of Abhishek Ghosalkar

Chaturvedi specifically mentioned the murder of Abhishek Ghosalkar, a local Sena UBT leader, who was shot dead during a Facebook Live by a local businessman and social activist on Thursday evening. The perpetrator, Mauris Noronha, later committed suicide, according to the police.

Incident in Thane District

The MP also referred to an earlier incident in neighbouring Thane district, where BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire inside a police station on February 2. The incident stemmed from a land dispute and political rivalry, resulting in injuries to a local leader of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

Urgent Intervention Needed

Chaturvedi implored Shah to urgently intervene before irreparable harm is inflicted upon the residents of Maharashtra. She emphasized the need to restore law and order and ensure the safety and security of citizens in the state.

The deteriorating law and order situation in Maharashtra has raised serious concerns among citizens and political leaders alike. The recent incidents of violence and the use of firearms have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. Urgent action is required from the central government to address this critical issue and ensure the well-being of the people of Maharashtra.
