Maharashtra Govt Formation: 'Unhappy' Ajit Pawar Likely To Meet Amit Shah Tonight: NCP Leader Sunil Tatkare

Maharashtra's deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, might meet Union Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Tuesday evening. This potential meeting was mentioned by Sunil Tatkare, the state NCP chief. The discussions could involve political matters, especially with the new Maharashtra government's swearing-in scheduled for December 5.

Sunil Tatkare addressed queries about reports suggesting that Ajit Pawar had requested a meeting with Amit Shah but was placed on a "waiting list." He clarified that no formal appointment had been sought and dismissed any notion of waiting for an appointment. "Amit Shah is currently in Chandigarh. We may hold political discussions tonight. We will talk about what is happening," said Tatkare. "There is no question of waiting (for appointment)," he added.

Portfolio Distribution Discussions

The allocation of portfolios in the new Maharashtra government will be decided at a meeting of Mahayuti allies. Tatkare stated that when all leaders convene, they will deliberate on ministerial positions. The coalition includes the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party, BJP, and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

Regarding the distribution of portfolios, Tatkare emphasized the importance of collective decision-making among the alliance leaders. He noted that these discussions would take place when all leaders are present together to ensure fair allocation.

Alliance Dynamics and Grievances

Sena leader Deepak Kesarkar expressed dissatisfaction over state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule not informing allies about his visit to Azad Maidan for inspecting the swearing-in ceremony venue. Tatkare acknowledged this as a legitimate concern and assured that all alliance leaders would conduct an inspection together today.

Representatives from NCP, including Dhananjay Munde, Anil Bhaidas Patil, and Hasan Mushrif, will participate in the joint inspection with other alliance members to address any grievances and ensure smooth coordination for the upcoming event.

The political landscape in Maharashtra remains dynamic as parties prepare for the new government's formation. Meetings like these are crucial for maintaining harmony among coalition partners and ensuring effective governance in the state.
