Maharashtra Election: PM Modi Accuses Congress Of 'Dividing' OBCs, Reiterates 'Ek Hain To Safe Hain' Slogan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi teared into Congress on Saturday, accusing the party of trying to divide the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) for political gain.

Speaking at a rally in Nanded, Maharashtra, the Prime Minister asserted that Congress cannot accept having an OBC Prime Minister for the last decade who has aimed to uplift all communities.

"Congress cannot tolerate the fact that there is an OBC Prime Minister who is taking everyone along with him," PM Modi stated.

He alleged that Congress is attempting to fragment the OBC community by splitting it into smaller caste groups, aiming to weaken its collective influence.

"Congress is playing the game of eliminating the identity of OBC and dividing them into different castes. Congress wants to snatch the identity of the large group of OBC and divide it into smaller caste groups. You will have to remain vigilant of Congress' divisive tactics. You will have to be aware of Congress' hidden agenda to divide and harm the country. 'Hum ek hai toh safe hain,'" the Prime Minister warned.

During the rally ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, PM Modi reiterated his slogan, "Hum ek hai to safe hain" (We are safe if we are united).

This was the second instance of the Prime Minister using this slogan in Maharashtra. At his previous rally in Dhule on Friday, 8 November, PM Modi accused Congress and its allies of pitting one caste against another, urging unity with the words "Ek hai, toh safe hai."

At that rally, PM Modi also accused the INDIA bloc of waving around blank books, passing them off as the Constitution to provoke Dalits and Adivasis.

The Prime Minister stated that Congress and its allies should avoid promoting the "Pakistan agenda" or adopting separatist language, and asserted that their agenda would fail as long as he retained public support.

As the state goes to polls on November 20, the effectiveness of 'Ek Hain To Safe Hain' Slogan will only be tested then.
