Maharashtra Blast: 5 Dead In Ordinance Factory Blast In Bhandara
A tragic explosion occurred at an ordnance factory in Bhandara, Maharashtra, on Friday morning. The incident has left at least five people feared dead, according to officials. Rescue operations are currently underway as emergency teams strive to locate survivors and provide medical assistance.
District Collector Sanjay Kolte confirmed that the explosion took place around 10:30 am on the factory premises. The blast resulted in a roof collapse, complicating rescue efforts. Firefighters and ambulances were promptly dispatched to the scene to aid in the ongoing rescue mission.

Rescue Operations and Challenges
The defence spokesperson stated that rescue and medical teams have been deployed to assist those affected by the explosion. Efforts are being made to remove debris using heavy machinery, including JCBs, to access trapped individuals. As of now, two people have been successfully rescued from the site.
In total, twelve individuals were reported to be present at the time of the explosion. The authorities are working tirelessly to ensure that all possible measures are taken to save lives and provide necessary medical care.
Official Statements and Response
"A roof has collapsed which is being removed with the help of JCB. A total of 12 people are reported to be there, out of which 2 people have been rescued," Collector Bhandara Sanjay Kolte told ANI.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation as officials focus on rescue efforts. The priority is ensuring safety and providing immediate assistance to those affected by this unfortunate event.
