Maharashtra Welcomes Ather Energy's Major Investment, Aims To Create 4,000 Jobs
The Mahayuti government in Maharashtra is prioritising employment and state development. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently revealed significant investment plans in the automotive sector. This initiative is expected to create around 4,000 jobs.
Fadnavis disclosed that Ather Energy, an electric scooter manufacturer, has chosen Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) for its third production facility. This decision marks the largest investment in Maharashtra's automotive industry to date.

During a meeting with Ather Energy founder Swapnil Jain, Fadnavis confirmed the company's commitment to investing over ₹2,000 crores in Maharashtra. This investment will facilitate the production of one million scooters and battery packs annually.
The Deputy CM emphasised that this investment aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's industrial development policies. It also highlights Maharashtra's conducive environment for nurturing industries and electric vehicle manufacturing policies.
Fadnavis noted that effective highway connectivity under the BJP government has made Maharashtra a preferred destination for investors. He believes this investment will significantly contribute to the state's 'electric mobility' revolution.
The Deputy CM stated, "As Ather has chosen Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for this investment, it is believed that Marathwada will definitely lead the development of Maharashtra in the coming days."
This strategic move by Ather Energy is expected to boost employment and support the state's economic growth. The new manufacturing unit will play a crucial role in advancing electric mobility in Maharashtra.
Fadnavis highlighted that this investment reflects Maharashtra's favourable environment for industrial growth. The state's policies are designed to attract and support such significant investments in the automotive sector.
The Deputy CM reiterated that this initiative would provide substantial employment opportunities for the youth. The factory's annual production capacity of one million scooters and battery packs underscores the scale of this investment.
This development is seen as a major step towards achieving Maharashtra's goals in electric vehicle manufacturing and industrial growth. The state's infrastructure and policies are geared towards supporting such large-scale investments.
The focus on electric mobility aligns with broader national policies aimed at promoting sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions. This investment by Ather Energy is a testament to Maharashtra's commitment to these goals.
The Mahayuti government's emphasis on employment and development is evident through this significant investment in the automotive sector. The collaboration with Ather Energy is expected to bring substantial benefits to the state and its residents.
